Desktop Notes
I know just about everyone has this problem: you get a phone call or someone asks for something and you forgot all about it. Before long you have half the office mad at you because you promised to do something and you just forgot. It's happened to me and it's very embarrassing.I've tried using the Notes feature of Outlook 2000 - it's much too cumbersome, slow and just plain ugly. I've tried about a dozen other products, and most of them either are so buggy that they are not worth the time, or they are cluttered with too many other features which are not needed or wanted.
What I need is simple. I just want post it notes on my computer. I would like to be able to make them in different colors and with backgrounds so I can see them easily on my screen, and most of all it has to be as fast and easy as a real paper post-it note.
A year or so ago I stumbled across this great little program called DeskNotes. Quite simply, DeskNotes is the perfect note taking system. You want a note, just click on the icon in your system tray then type your message. You want to delete the note later, just right click and choose delete.
DeskNotes is extraordinarily fast, incredibly simple and very complete. You can create notes with backgrounds and colors, use different fonts and even exchange notes with other DeskNotes users.
This is one of those little programs that I simply cannot do without. Now I don't forget anything, as long as I make a DeskNote about it.
